VERANO AZUL – Handwoven Wool Rug in the Colours of the Andean Summer

The VERANO AZUL rug tells the story of the clear, cool moments of the Andean summer – of the deep blue sky after a hot day, the shimmer of distant mountain lakes, and the peaceful stillness that settles over the dry landscape as the sun sets. Its earthy base color harmonizes beautifully with bright blue stripes, evoking the play of sky and horizon.

Each rug is traditionally handwoven from 100% Argentinian sheep’s wool. The wool comes from freely grazing sheep in the highlands of northern Argentina and is crafted by a local cooperative in Jujuy. Mostly dyed with plant-based pigments, the rugs retain their natural texture and show subtle colour variations that make every piece a unique creation.

Through fair trade, the cultural heritage of the weavers is preserved, and their work is sustainably supported – ensuring authentic and responsible craftsmanship.
