Handmade Leather Bag with Chaguar Textile
Timelessly elegant and rich in heritage – this leather bag combines contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship from northern Argentina.
At its heart lies the handwoven Chaguar textile, crafted by women of the Wichí community in the Gran Chaco region. From the leaves of the wild chaguar plant, they extract delicate natural fibers, dyeing them with pigments from roots, bark, and native fruits. Each artisan weaves her own story into the fabric – every piece a reflection of identity, patience, and pride.
The soft, textured Argentine leather gives the bag its refined feel and structured shape. Its generous trapeze form offers enough space for everything you need throughout the day – from your notebook to all the small essentials that accompany you.
More than just an accessory, this bag is a statement of culture, sustainability, and women’s empowerment. With every purchase, you support a cooperative that connects and uplifts over 2,600 indigenous craftswomen across northern Argentina.
